Together with the most promising startups and a relentless drive for execution, Köster Ventures — the newly established corporate venture of the Köster Group — is reshaping the future of construction.
Pursuing innovation
For years, the construction industry has faced profound challenges: increasing cost pressure, a growing shortage of skilled labor, and productivity growth lagging behind other industries. At the same time, the potential of digital technologies remains largely untapped — processes are often fragmented, data is not seamlessly integrated, and innovation cycles move slowly.
Against this backdrop, Köster Ventures was founded. As the corporate venturing unit of the Köster Group, Köster Ventures strategically connects ambitious ConTech startups and founders with the execution power of one of Germany’s leading construction companies.
Together with Köster’s experts, they provide startups with deep industry expertise built on 85 years of construction experience, while enabling promising tech solutions to access the market directly through more than 200 active construction sites each year.
For the development of the brand identity and brand guidelines, Köster Ventures partnered with Studio VEH. The challenge: preserving the recognisable heritage of Köster as the parent brand, while clearly expressing the ambition for innovation and the strong focus on ConTech.

Focus on technology
Our wordmark reflects this clear technological focus: bold, geometric letterforms communicate strength and reliability, while the typographic treatment — designed as a URL — represents innovation and a progressive approach to construction.
To ensure maximum flexibility across all media and formats, two logo variations were developed: a wordmark featuring the full brand name, and a compact symbol designed for extended or multi-page applications as well as smaller-scale formats.
Just as clear and straight-forward as the visual identity is the new claim: Building on Tech — because technology is the foundation we build on.

BUILDING ON TECH: To visually reinforce this promise, the identity system is built around EK Modena, a distinctive sans-serif typeface.
Its clear letterforms and balanced proportions communicate stability and technical expertise with a confident, forward-looking character.
The interplay of just two font weights creates a simple yet defined hierarchy: headlines set in bold all caps emphasise presence and executional strength, while body copy in regular weight ensures clarity and readability.

Constantly in motion
The KÖ.V brand pattern is a core element of the visual identity of Köster Ventures. Combining the two distinctive brand colours — KÖ.V Red, derived from the signature colour of parent company Köster, and vibrant KÖ.V Magenta as an expression of innovation — creates a dynamic visual system that adapts seamlessly across a wide range of formats.
The brand pattern represents continuous evolution and forward momentum. Through the constant reconfiguration of modular forms, it reflects the ambition of Köster Ventures: to remain in motion and continuously translate emerging technologies into real-world construction practice.

The brand pattern becomes a dynamic vehicle for the brand identity: it adapts fluidly to all formats and unfolds across every touchpoint. Whether as a tactile detail on a carpenter’s pencil or as a lively, animated element in the digital realm, the brand pattern visualizes Köster Ventures’ vision: a construction sector that sees itself as an active driver of technological change.
